10 Essential of Johnny Depp’s Style…

Not many people consider Johnny Depp stylish because his style is, well, so out there. I, on the other hand, have got nothing  but love for his quirky and always-surprising looks. In fact, my adoration of his “style” made me want to write about the factors that make Johnny Depp’s look truly his. If you are a guy (welcome to All Women Stalk!) and you want to copy his style, you might want to read this. If you are a girl who wants her boyfriend to dress up like Johnny, this will be helpful as well. So let’s get started, shall we?


Hair
If you want to give off Johnny Depp vibes, keeping your hair as messy as possible is essential. Sure, you can comb it nicely when you are invited to formal events but do not think that you cannot get away with having a messy do. Because you can.


Eyewear
From traditional to violet-colored ones, you can never have too many sunglasses. And yes, guys can do geek chic, too.


Hat
The same rule on eyewear applies to hats as well. From cowboy hats to beanies, they are essential to having a Johnny Depp style. If you are not really a hat person, you can stick to rocking cowboy hats.


Jeans
Ripped? Yes. Baggy? Yes. Comfy? Most definitely YES.


Shoes
Dress shoes for formal occasions, sure, but you can get away with wearing leather shoes that have seen better days. If you can find shoes that you can still rock 2 decades later, that’s awesome.


Accessories
Johnny is seldom without his necklaces and bracelets. He wears at least 5 at the same time, it makes me think that he could be the resident accessories holder of his family. But they do give his look that artsy vibe.


Skin Art
Johnny’s tattoos are not for vanity’s sake. He doesn’t have them in order to appear tough or gangsta. His tattoos are sentimental, actually. Now you may not be into permanent skin art but that’s okay. Showing that you hold your loved ones dear is enough.


Coat/Jacket
Variety is key but keeping the whole look grunge is important. Tie a jacket around your waist for good measure.


Facial Hair
While I love Johnny clean-shaven, there is something about his facial hair – his mustache and beard – that are just undeniably Johnny. Of course, there is the smile, too. If you can’t pull off a mustache or beard, a smile that has a hint of mischief will suffice.


Attitude
Do not go for the superficial. Do not crave for fame. Find your passion and just BE. Knowing where your priorities lie and how to chase happiness is essential to have Johnny’s style. After all, your attitude can show in the way you dress.

The early life of Jhonny Deep

He was born John Christopher Depp II on June 9th, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky – the self-styled “barbecue capital of the world”. His father, John Christopher, was a city engineer, and his mother, Betty Sue, a waitress. He was always very close to his mother, but perhaps even closer to his grandfather, who he knew as Pawpaw (Depp himself was known as Dipp or Deppity Dawg). He’d visit Pawpaw often, and happily recalls sunny days picking tobacco together. It was a terrible shock to the seven-year-old boy when Pawpaw died.

Also traumatic was the family’s move to Florida soon afterwards. John Christopher did eventually find secure work as director of public works at Miramar, but the family spent a long time living in motels and were constantly shifting from place to place – well over a dozen in total. It was bad for the older kids – daughters Debbie and Christie (now Johnny’s personal manager), and brother Danny (known as DP, now a screenwriter) – but Johnny took it especially hard. Though an inquisitive child – at 8 he was hugely interested in Evel Knievel and World War 2 – he did not take to school and went off the rails, once being suspended for mooning the gym teacher. By 12, he was smoking, very soon came drinking, and drugs. There was petty theft and vandalism, he lost his virginity at 13. Small wonder he got into rock and roll.

Johnny first discovered a love of music back in Owensboro, when attending the church of his uncle, a fundamentalist minister. His uncle would preach, the people would clutch his feet and be redeemed, but Johnny was more taken by the gospel music. In Florida, as this troubled adolescent became a surly teenager, he received a guitar from his mother and, like millions before him, retired to his room and taught himself to play.

On emerging, he was a competent garage rocker. After trying out with various outfits, he joined punksters The Flame and found himself making $25 a night at Florida’s nightclubs. There were drawbacks. Still underage, he had to enter clubs through the back-door and leave after the first set. But it was good, and got better. Changing their name to The Kids, the band started to take off, supporting such luminaries as Talking Heads, B-52’s and Iggy Pop (Depp remembers his first self-consciously punky words to Iggy being “F*** you! F*** you! F*** you!”. Iggy called him “a little turd” and ignored him). Depp had dropped out of High School at 16 to concentrate on music (his parents were divorced the year before). Now, in search of the big time, the band relocated to Los Angeles.

Johnny Depp is the first to be chosen for honor twice in the same decade

For just the third time ever, there is a two-time winner of People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” award.

On Wednesday, Johnny Depp joined Brad Pitt (1995 and 2000) and George Clooney (1997 and 2006) as the only two-time winners of the much-debated title. It was something of a surprise: Usually, People’s sexiest man is coming off a year spent in the public spotlight because of a major movie release. Depp, who won in 2003, breaks the mold, winning despite his keeping a low profile in 2009.

And according to the U.K. Daily Mail, that profile is about to get a lot larger. Its Web site is reporting that Depp has just signed to film a fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film, “On Stranger Tides,” in return for a whopping $35 million payday.

People editor Julie Jordan said the magazine’s editors considered 2009’s hunk-of-the-moment, “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson, for the award, but decided instead to go with the 46-year-old unmarried father of two for longevity that has withstood the test of time.

“The thing about Johnny is he has proven his sexiness over the years,” Jordan explained to TODAY’s Natalie Morales. She said he was the only actor who “can pull off the sexiness” behind such bizarre characters as Willie Wonka and the Mad Hatter.

“Johnny Depp has magical powers. He’s unlike anyone else,” actress Isla Fisher agrees in the Sexiest Man issue of People. “He's funny, generous and clever. It’s just a shame he’s so hard on the eyes.”

The actor, who was born in Owensboro, Ky., and had a difficult childhood during which his family moved many times, has also proved his versatility. Since first hitting the public radar in the cop show “21 Jump Street” in 1987, he has created a succession of memorable roles, from Edward Scissorhands to Gilbert Grape to Willie Wonka to Raoul Duke, a.k.a. Hunter S. Thompson, to Sweeney Todd to Captain Jack Sparrow.
